Deepening their connection through generosity

Rick and Pam Panowicz

Longtime Saint Martin’s supporters Rick and Pam Panowicz took additional steps to cement their relationship with the University.

Rick and Pam Panowicz met at Olympia High School and married following college, while Rick was serving in the military. They lived in Alabama then California, where Rick began employment with Tab Products, a company that helps its customers store, find and use business assets, paper files and electronic information, and Pam finished her physical therapy degree.

In the late 1970s, they returned to Olympia to be nearer family. Rick purchased the Tab Products franchise for the state of Washington and Southeast Alaska. He sold the business in 1996, and Pam retired in 2000. Since retiring, they have spent the past 20+ years focusing on their passions of boating, traveling and building community through charity work.

Their support of Saint Martin’s began around this time, when Rick joined the Board of Trustees. Over the years, Rick has served in numerous leadership positions on the board, including as board chair, and with the University’s fundraising special events, most notably the Saint Martin’s Gala, and capital campaigns for recreation and athletic facilities, engineering and science. He is also tri-chairing the University’s next major fundraising endeavor.

Rick and Pam lead by the time and talent they bring to a nonprofit organization, but also with their treasure as generous benefactors for all in which they are involved. They have cemented their deep relationship with the University by creating a charitable remainder unitrust and remembering Saint Martin’s in their estate plan by earmarking a percentage of their estate for the ultimate gift of helping grow the University’s endowment.
