A family legacy of education

Education is a value in my family. I believe it is because my dad, Art Acuff, had a future different from his dad's after he attended college. Instead of becoming a coal miner, he became a teacher and a coach.

First, he taught in a high school and then at Saint Martin's. He understood the positive impact that education could have on a person's life. He chose teaching at Saint Martin's because of the opportunity it gave his children to earn a college degree. All of his seven children; his wife, Mildred; and four of his grandchildren attended Saint Martin's.

For these reasons, I want our family's legacy of education to continue after I am gone. I made sure that future students will benefit by naming Saint Martin's in my will. The value of an education will continue through this gift and the spirit of my family will live through others.
