Dennis and Tedi Reynolds will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in May. Their story began at Saint Martin's as undergraduates and they remain actively engaged now as alumni.

Dennis graduated as class valedictorian in 1969. He then earned his law degree from the University of Washington in 1972. He spent his early career with the Washington State Office of the Attorney General. The Reynoldses resided in Olympia where they had three children and were active in the local community, St. Michael's Parish and the Saint Martin's Alumni Association.

The Reynolds family moved to Bainbridge Island in 1989. Over the next two decades, Dennis developed a practice in regulatory land-use law while a partner in several major Seattle law firms. Then in 2008, he opened his own practice on Bainbridge Island.

Tedi '71 recently retired from King County's IT department where she supported technology for Metro's transit system.

In 2012, Dennis and Tedi established a scholarship endowment to support Saint Martin's students who plan to study law. Over the years, they have generously added to the principal of the fund, with many gifts being made during the Saint Martin's Gala.

The Reynoldses are now revising their will and plan to leave a percentage of their estate to Saint Martin's University for the purpose of growing the endowment.

"Our generation was fortunate to have access to affordable higher education," Dennis says. "Tedi and I were blessed to receive spiritual grounding and lifelong friendships as part of our college experience at Saint Martin's. Those of us with the means have the responsibility to ensure that same opportunity for the following generations."

At the time of this article, Saint Martin's endowment was nearly $21.8 million.
